From Martin Luther King, Jr: “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
Growing up Bill had a normal childhood. School was easy, good grades came easily, sports were easy. But with so much talent, he tended to become lazy, and as a kid, that’s okay, but when a person gets older, their bad habits catch up to them. About a year before filming this podcast, his wife was pregnant with his second daughter getting the worst morning sickness and he had to juggle being a family man, a husband, and had multiple things on his plate. So it finally came to Bill that he need to start to improve himself. He worked on sleeping better, eating better, exercising…and recently he finally upgraded to a smartphone, getting even more work done.
A Low Point
It was tough to watch his wife not do anything being extremely nauseous and he was torn between trying to do a good job at work and be there for his family, because he couldn’t do anything and she couldn’t do anything. He just kept trying to figure it out and if he didn’t, there was gonna be failure. The pain and weights bearing down on him and his wife led him to take small steps to lead him where he is today.
Always hesitant to talk about the work he was doing online. He realized he has to talk to people and let them into the world of his work that it’s growing. Bill began to realize he had to do the work he thought was right and good things would follow.
Bill’s work now
Recently, he has started consulting a guy who had started designing some apps and tried to development the mindset that it doesn’t have to be perfect and eventually start a small app business. Another tip for retooling your productivity is to plan your goals by using SMART Goals, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time bound. And then the goals become easily pursued and obtained.
What’s exciting Bill now
